BELLINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - The body of a woman who was killed more than three decades ago in Massachusetts has been exhumed as authorities continue to investigate her death.

The Milford Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/2qFTEaM ) that authorities say Theresa Corley’s body was exhumed Wednesday from St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Milford.

The 19-year-old Corley went missing in December 1978 after she went to a Franklin bar, visited some people at a nearby apartment complex and walked home to Bellingham. She was last seen walking less than a mile from her home.

Authorities say Corley’s body was found in the woods on the side of the northbound lane of state Route 495 a few days later.

Corley’s family says they hope that evidence recovered during the exhumation will bring authorities closer to solving the case.
