SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - San Jose police say an officer shot and wounded a man while responding to a home following a report of a family disturbance.

The Mercury News reports (https://bayareane.ws/2pwLjZk) the man in his late 20s was hit at least once and hospitalized with life-threatening injuries late Tuesday. No other injuries were reported.

The newspaper says police were called after the man got involved in an altercation with his father at the residence.

The shooting is under investigation.
