IRVING, Texas (AP) - The Latest on a lockdown at a Texas community college: (all times local):

10:15 p.m.

Police have released the identities of the woman killed at a suburban Dallas community college and the man suspected of killing her before taking his own life.

Twenty-year-old Janeera Nickol Gonzalez was shot dead Wednesday in a common study area inside the Performance Hall building at North Lake College in Irving. A police search of surrounding buildings revealed the body of 21-year-old Adrian Victor Torres, whom officers suspected was the killer.

It is still unclear if the two knew each other.

The school northwest of Dallas was closed for the rest of the day and will remain closed Thursday.

North Lake College is a two-year public school that’s part of the Dallas County Community College District.

1:15 p.m.

A math tutor at a suburban Dallas community college says she saw a man shoot a woman three times in the hallway of a campus building.

Nasrin Nanbakhsh says the woman was sitting in a chair at North Lake College in Irving when the gunman approached her Wednesday and fired.

Nanbakhsh said she ran into a room, locked the doors, turned off the lights and waited for help to arrive. She said she also emailed her supervisors to let them know what was happening.

Irving police spokesman James McLellan says the gunman took his own life after killing the woman.

The school northwest of Dallas was closed for the rest of the day.

A police spokesman says the suspected gunman and a second person are dead in an apparent murder-suicide on the campus of a community college in suburban Dallas.

Irving police spokesman James McLellan says it doesn’t appear anyone else was hurt in the shooting Wednesday at North Lake College.

The college in Irving earlier issued notices through social media urging people to barricade themselves in rooms.

Broadcast video shows students rushing from campus buildings as police swarm the area. Officers with their weapons drawn cautiously move toward one building.

McLellan says officers are trying to stop vehicles as they leave the campus and have stopped nearby public transportation in an effort to find any suspects.

12:40 p.m.

An Irving Police Department spokesman says authorities are dealing with “an active shooter situation” at a community college near Dallas.

Spokesman James McLellan says police believe the threat at North Lake College in Irving is “credible.”

McLellan says authorities received reports that shots had been fired on the campus and that there are “possible injuries.”

The campus remains on lockdown.

A Dallas-area community college says it’s on lockdown following reports of an intruder, possibly armed.

North Lake College issued an alert to students late Wednesday morning telling them to barricade themselves in the nearest room and wait for further instructions from police.

Irving Police said on Twitter that there was an “active shooter.”

North Lake College is a two-year school in the Dallas suburb of Irving.
