Phoenix firefighters are at a high-rise preparing to rescue two painters on an outside platform hanging near the top of the 11-story office building.

The platform is just below the roof of the high-rise, and fire Capt. Reda Bigler says crews will first lower a firefighter to the platform to assess the painters’ equipment.

Bigler says the painters need to be wearing harnesses that can be used to lift the painters to the roof.

The building is near North 44th Street and East Thomas Road.
