WASHINGTON (AP) - Police say multiple shootings in Washington have left two men injured and two others arrested on Memorial Day, after one man was killed in another shooting days before.
Local news outlets report the Monday evening shootings first began around 5 p.m. Metropolitan police arrested two people after finding more than 40 shell casings at the scene of an apparent shootout in northwest Washington, near where eight people were injured in Saturday’s fatal shooting. It is unknown if the two incidents are connected.
WTTG-TV reports a 21-year-old man was shot multiple times, including the chest area, shortly before 7 p.m. in the Takoma neighborhood along the Maryland border.
Police say later a man was shot in the foot about 15 minutes during a third incident in northeast Washington.
