KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Mohave County Superior Court has been issuing orders to show cause for people who failed to appear for jury services.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports (https://bit.ly/2qJCLvJ ) Thursday that many of the people who missed their jury duty are due in court June 2 to explain why they didn’t show up.
The court clerk says people skipping jury duty is starting to become a serious and expensive problem.
Two trials were recently scheduled with a combined 164 people summoned to appear. Of the 132 people not excused, only 54 showed up.
The clerk says this is not an isolated case.
