CLEVELAND, Miss. (AP) - Delta State University will honor a Cleveland couple for their contributions to Bolivar County at its Saturday commencement ceremonies.

The university will give honorary degrees to Lucy and Paul Janoush, both Delta State alumni. Lucy Janoush has been chairman of the Cleveland Music Foundation, leading fund-raising for and construction of the Grammy Museum Mississippi, which opened last year on the university’s campus. Paul Janoush is a longtime Boy Scout volunteer and board member for Delta State’s foundation.

Delta State expects to award 379 degrees to graduates in two ceremonies. College Board trustee and retired Mississippi Supreme Court Justice Ann Lamar is scheduled to speak at both ceremonies, to be held at the Bologna Performing Arts Center.

Lamar earned a bachelor’s degree from Delta State.

This story’s slug has been corrected to show it refers to Delta State University instead of Alcorn State.
