PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - The manslaughter trial of a Maine lobster boat captain charged with the deaths of two crew members will likely begin this fall.

Cushing resident Christopher Hutchinson was the owner of No Limits, a boat that flipped in heavy waves more than two years ago after hauling in traps off of Maine. Prosecutors have said Hutchinson operated the boat after drinking and using drugs.

Hutchinson’s attorney says the trial is likely to begin in late October or early November. He declined to comment on what his defense strategy will be.

Hutchinson is being held at Cumberland County Jail. He was arrested in March for violating bail conditions when he was found to have used drugs and overdosed.
