SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Police in Southern California have arrested a suspect they say rammed a patrol car during a vehicle chase and then fought with an officer after a foot pursuit.
Officials say the Santa Ana officer involved in the altercation Wednesday was hospitalized as a precaution but later released.
Cmdr. Matt Brown says the car chase began when officers tried to pull over what they believed was a stolen pickup truck.
Brown says the driver intentionally rammed a police car, jumped out of the truck and ran from police and into a bar.
The Orange County Register reports (https://bit.ly/2q2oqyp) the suspect could face charges including assault on a police officer. His name has not been released.
