LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Little Rock police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in a residential area.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (https://bit.ly/2pIGYSO ) reports officers were called to an assault in process around 7 p.m. Thursday.

Police spokesman Officer Steve Moore says officers found a man lying in the street with several stab wounds. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries around 8 p.m.

Police hadn’t identified the man late Thursday. His death is the 21st homicide in the city this year.

Witnesses say they saw the man fighting with a man and a woman before police responded. Police say the other man and woman were seen fleeing the scene in a white sedan.

Moore says it’s unclear what led to the altercation. No arrests had been made late Thursday.
