PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Police say a 9-year-old girl is in critical condition after she and another girl were hit by a car in Philadelphia, pinning the 9-year-old under the vehicle.

Both girls were taken to a hospital for treatment after being hit Sunday night. Police say the other girl who was hit, age 10, is stable. Another young girl, who was riding in the car, was also treated for minor injuries.

Frances Jones, who witnessed the crash, told WPVI-TV a group of neighbors was able to lift the car and pull the girl out from underneath it.

Police are still investigating. No charges have been filed.
