WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man who authorities say killed another man in a fight is facing a murder charge.

The state attorney general’s office says Brian Fraga of Lincoln was charged Monday in Warwick with second-degree murder in the Wednesday death of 43-year-old Luis Perez. Fraga had previously been charged with manslaughter.

Police say Fraga and Perez had gotten into an argument inside of Fraga’s apartment. Investigators say the two men then left the apartment and got into a physical altercation in the parking lot.

Police found Perez lying on the ground with a head wound. He was declared dead at the hospital. A state medical examiner ruled Perez died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Fraga was ordered held without bail. It’s unclear whether Fraga has been assigned an attorney.
