PITTSBURGH (AP) - A man has been sentenced to 2½ to six years in prison in a hit-and-run crash on New Year’s Day last year that killed a jogger in western Pennsylvania.

Thirty-five-year-old William Lekovitch of Munhall pleaded guilty Tuesday to involuntary manslaughter and causing an accident involving death while not property licensed.

Authorities said he was driving in Turtle Creek when he struck 60-year-old Judith Oreski of Wilkinsburg and then fled on foot. She died two days later.

Lekovitch told the judge that he wants to change his life to honor the victim.

Prosecutors said they will recommend that he be allowed to serve his sentence in a state prison boot camp.
