Sen. Rand Paul tweeted Tuesday that he intends to introduce a repeal of the Obamacare mandate in the Senate’s tax proposal.

“The mandate repeal is a promise we all made and we should keep. It also allows an additional $300 billion+ in tax cuts,” Mr. Paul tweeted.

President Trump has pushed the idea of putting the repeal in the tax plan on Monday, tweeting that he’d like to see it added to the bill.

“I am proud of the Rep. House & Senate for working so hard on cutting taxes {& reform.} We’re getting close! Now, how about ending the unfair & highly unpopular Indiv Mandate in OCare & reducing taxes even further? Cut top rate to 35% w/all of the rest going to middle income cuts?” Mr. Trump tweeted.

The Senate is still working on its final version of the bill, but the House plans to vote on its version this week.
