WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A Danville woman has been charged with theft, accused of stealing nearly $139,000 from an eastern Iowa car dealership where she had worked.
The Hawk Eye reports that 42-year-old Jeanna Joan Jones has been charged with first-degree theft. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
Investigators say Jones was involved in a scam in which she overpaid commissions to a 70-year-old sales associated at Deery Brothers in West Burlington. Prosecutors say the overpayments started in January 2008 and ran through 2016.
Officials have not named Jones’ co-worker, but say a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
There is no attorney listed for Jones in online court filings. A call to her home Wednesday rang unanswered.
