GOSHEN, N.Y. (AP) - A 21-year-old man has admitted to killing an employee of an upstate New York gas station by driving over him and then backing over the worker before fleeing the scene.
The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports that 22-year-old Milton Galdamez Pena, of Newburgh, pleaded guilty Wednesday in Orange County Court to leaving the scene of an incident without reporting.
Prosecutors say when Galdamez Pena pulled his BMW into a gas station in Newburgh on July 30 he struck 21-year-old Jaspal Singh, who was measuring gasoline levels in a tank next to the pumps.
Singh had placed an orange barrel next to the pump to indicate it was closed, but Galdamez Pena drove up anyway and hit him. He then backed up and ran over Singh a second time.
After seeing the station attendant on the ground, Galdamez drove away.
