HOULTON, Maine (AP) - Racing fans are disappointed that a border delay prevented a Pro Series team from participating in a televised race this weekend in North Carolina.
A truck carrying Farmington native Cassius Clark’s car, racing gear and tools was held up from Tuesday to Friday at the border crossing in Houlton, Maine. By the time it was released, the team transporter didn’t have enough time to make it to the Mason-Dixon MegaMeltdown 300.
Clark is part of the King Racing Team, owned by former racer and Canadian businessman Rollie MacDonald.
Clark said the holdup involved importation documents. He said he hopes they can get the necessary paperwork in two weeks when they are supposed to race in Florida.
