LAS VEGAS (AP) - The Latest on an attack on a woman in one location and a stabbing that left a girl dead and a teenage boy wounded at an extended-stay hotel south of the Las Vegas Strip (all times local):

5:30 p.m.

Police in Las Vegas say a 30-year-old convicted felon hospitalized after shooting himself severely beat the mother of their two children at one location, and is believed to be responsible for killing their daughter and leaving their teenage son with a stab wound to the neck at an address across town.

Officer Jacinto Rivera said Monday that Marcus Maddox was found with a gunshot about 6 p.m. Sunday at a room at an extended-stay hotel in northeast Las Vegas, where the woman was found critically injured.

Rivera says Maddox is expected to face multiple felony charges.

Rivera did not have details about the identity of the injured woman or the ages of the children who he says were found in a room Monday morning at an extended-stay hotel south of the Las Vegas Strip.

Records show that Maddox served time in Nevada state prison for convictions in 2005 on attempted murder, burglary and weapon charges.
