MOLINE ACRES, Mo. (AP) - A 5-year-old girl who was in the back seat when a car was stolen in suburban St. Louis has been found safe, but the car’s still missing.
Authorities in St. Louis County say a carjacking occurred around 8 a.m. at a gas station in Moline Acres. A woman who had gone inside to pay had just returned to her Dodge Charger when a man approached, pulled her out of the car, and stole it.
Police began a frantic search for the vehicle and the child. The child was found several minutes later at the St. Louis Galleria shopping mall.
Police are still looking for the stolen car and the carjacker.
