ROANOKE, Va. (AP) - Roanoke police say one man was fatally shot and another was hurt in two shootings that may be related.

The department said in a news release that officers were called shortly before noon Thursday to a home and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital.

While investigating the shooting, officers determined that a home invasion might have occurred and the victim had shot one of the suspects.

Officers were then called to another scene, where they found a man with a gunshot wound. That man was taken to a hospital, where he died.

Investigators are working to determine if the two shootings are related.
