READING, Pa. (AP) - A driver who allegedly fled from a traffic stop and prompted a brief standoff at his home is now facing numerous charges.

Reading police say the counts that 31-year-old Antonio Villanueva-Quinones faces include reckless endangerment and possessing and intending to deliver synthetic marijuana.

Two police officers were on foot patrol Monday when they smelled marijuana and heard loud music coming from a car. As they checked the driver’s identification, they say he drove off and ran from the car before trying to hide in his Reading home.

Authorities soon learned Villanueva-Quinones had several outstanding warrants.

Meanwhile, a woman at his home called 911 to report a shooting victim. Dozens of armed officers responded and soon found Villanueva-Quinones in a rear room.

Authorities eventually determined no shooting had occurred.
