LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles County prosecutors say a man has been sentenced to 28 years to life in prison for his role in the strangling of a man whose body was later set ablaze.
The body of Christopher Waters was found inside a burning car in April 2013 in Rancho Palos Verdes. Investigators determined the 42-year-old had been strangled before being placed in the vehicle and set on fire.
Twenty-two-year-old Jose Angel Martinez was found guilty last month of first-degree murder and arson.
The district attorney’s office says Martinez was sentenced Tuesday.
