ANNAPOLIS | A woman jumped off the Chesapeake Bay Bridge shortly before 11:30 a.m. Thursday, according to witnesses on the bridge.

The woman, who has not been identified, did not survive, according to Maryland authorities.

Traffic was backed up on the westbound span and police were on the scene within minutes Friday.
