BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 44-year-old eastern Montana man is charged with killing his 80-year-old father by shooting him in the eye.

The Billings Gazette reports Todd Carlisle Fisher of Glendive was charged Tuesday with deliberate homicide. His bail was set at $1 million. He is scheduled to enter a plea on Nov. 28.

Investigators said witnesses reported that Todd Fisher was stressed about having to care for his father, that his father often berated him and that Todd had charged $10,000 to his father’s credit card without permission.

Prosecutors say Wilbur Fisher had a $60,000 life insurance policy and his will left his estate to his son.

Todd Fisher reported his father’s death on Oct. 16. The coroner estimated he had been dead for at least a day. Court records say a gun was found in the bushes outside the residence.
