GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) - Authorities have charged a North Carolina man of having improper contact with an 8-year-old and having sex with a 10-year-old.
Greenville police told local media outlets that 40-year-old Reginald Carter was arrested on Tuesday and charged him with statutory rape of a child, indecent liberties with a child and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
According to warrants, the offenses occurred on July 25 in Greenville. Police said they were notified of the alleged incidents in July, but the allegations needed further investigation.
A police spokeswoman said Carter turned himself in. He is jailed on a $300,000 bond. It’s not known if he has an attorney.
