RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - An Oglala Sioux district vice chairman who pleaded guilty to embezzling from the tribe was recently sentenced to two years of unsupervised probation.
Fifty-seven-year-old Charles Cummings, of Martin, admitted in federal court in August to stealing from the tribe between December 2015 and January 2016.
U.S. Attorney Randolph Seiler said at the time that Cummings had agreed to pay $2,500 in restitution. The Rapid City Journal reports that was included in his sentence.
