ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A 19-year-old man has been shot and killed in Allentown as the city reported its 17th homicide of the year, the most in a decade.

Witnesses say they heard three or four shots in the parking lot of an apartment building across the street City Hall around 7 p.m. Wednesday. The Morning Call reports that several people attending class at the county courthouse say a woman ran up to them yelling someone had been shot.

The Lehigh County coroner identified the victim as Parris J. Lane of Allentown.



The city reported 10 homicides last year.
