MORRISTOWN, N.J. (AP) - A man who admitted selling the drugs that led to another man’s overdose death last year is now headed to prison.
Blaine Holley received an eight-year sentence on Friday. The 34-year-old Hillside man had pleaded guilty in July to strict liability for drug-induced death.
Morris County prosecutors say Holley provided cocaine and heroin to Eric Decter, who was found dead of a drug overdose at a Hanover hotel in September 2016.
Holley offered his condolences to Decter’s mother during his sentencing, telling her he didn’t intend to cause her son’s death.
