ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - A newspaper reports five people have been charged with murder in the beating death of a Maryland woman found buried in a clandestine grave.

The Capital Gazette reports 21-year-old Jenni Rivera Lopez was driven June 24 to a remote spot on or near the grounds of a youth camp outside Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County Police say the woman was fatally beaten and buried and her body was found Sept. 20 through information provided by an unnamed person.

The paper, which obtained charging documents, says all five were arrested in late September and are being held without bond.

Lt. Ryan Frashure, a police spokesman, told the newspaper that investigators believe the killing was gang-related.

Frashure didn’t immediately respond to an Associated Press call seeking more details.
