DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Police say they’ve arrested a north Alabama man who allegedly tried to hire hit men to have two people kidnapped.

Authorities say 48-year-old Brian David Boersma of Morgan County is charged with conspiracy to commit the crimes of kidnapping, murder and human trafficking.

He is jailed with bond set at $2 million.

A statement from Decatur police says Boersma was arrested during a sting conducted by city officers and the FBI. He allegedly met with two undercover officers posing as hit men and went over plans to have two females kidnapped.

Police haven’t identified the supposed targets of the scheme, and court records show Boersma doesn’t yet have a lawyer to speak on his behalf.
