BYRON, Maine (AP) - Police say skeletal remains were recovered from a wooded area in Byron, Maine, and have been sent to the state medical examiner for examination.
A team including members of the state police, Maine Warden Service and two county departments recovered the remains on Wednesday. A hunter had originally discovered the remains on Tuesday about a mile into the woods before reporting it to the sheriff’s office.
Police say searches have taken place in the area for 46-year-old Derek Adams, who lived nearby and has been missing since December. They say his family has been notified of the discovery.
