PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a head-on crash in New Jersey has left one man dead and two people injured.

The crash on River Road in Piscataway occurred around 4:25 a.m. Saturday.

Middlesex County prosecutors say a preliminary investigation found that a car driven by 25-year-old Piscataway resident Darrius Griffin Jr. crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Steve Kemmlein, of Wayne. But the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Kemmlein was pronounced dead at the scene.

Griffin was hospitalized in critical condition, while his passenger was in stable condition. The passengers name and further details on their injuries were not disclosed.
