PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are investigating a shooting in which a man driving on Interstate 17 was shot and wounded in the leg by a person known to the victim.
Sgt. Jonathan Howard says the suspect in the Wednesday morning incident fled the area and hasn’t been located.
Howard says the victim’s wound isn’t life-threatening.
No identities were released.
Howard says the incident has no connection to a 2015 series of freeway shootings in the Phoenix area. A man was arrested and charged in that case but the case later was dismissed.
