COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A Tennessee jail inmate faces an indictment on charges of trying to solicit the murder of a witness in his pending case.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says 39-year-old Calvin Booher was incarcerated when he attempted to arrange for a witness in his arson case to be murdered.

TBI says Booher was arrested a year ago and charged with aggravated arson connected to several fires in the Livingston area.

The Overton County Grand Jury returned an indictment Monday charging Booher with one count of solicitation to commit first degree murder. He was served with the additional charge Thursday at the Overton County Jail, where he remained in custody.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Booher had an attorney.
