PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) - A man has been arrested in the fatal stabbing on campus of a Maryland college student during homecoming weekend four years ago.

Maryland State Police said in a news release that 25-year-old Davonta Braxton was arrested Friday on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne.

Braxton is charged with second-degree murder in the stabbing of 21-year-old Edmond St. Clair.

Troopers say on Feb. 16, 2013, St. Clair and others were driving through the UMES campus when they came across several people walking in the street. The groups started fighting, and St. Clair was stabbed.

Investigators recovered a knife that they linked to the stabbing. Troopers say DNA from the knife was linked to Braxton.

Braxton’s lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
