Fairfax County police said Monday that MASN announcer Ray Knight, who also played 13 seasons in the major leagues, was charged with assault and battery following a scuffle in his home around 4 a.m. Sunday.

Police say that Knight and a 33-year-old male acquaintance both had visible injuries when officers arrived at Knight’s Alexandria home following an argument and altercation.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Knight was also treated at the hospital before being taken to an adult detention center. He has since been released and is due in court Jan. 8, 2018.

Knight, 64, has been part of MASN’s coverage of the Washington Nationals for six seasons. He primarily works as a studio show analyst.
