YORK, Pa. (AP) - The former superintendent of a south-central Pennsylvania school district has been sentenced to six to 23 months in prison in an assault on his estranged wife’s boyfriend.

WPMT-TV reports that 45-year-old Shawn Minnich, of Conewago Township, was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to simple assault, terroristic threats and two counts of recklessly endangering another person for incident.

Prosecutors say Minnich entered his estranged wife’s home in 2015 and assaulted her boyfriend.

Minnich had served as superintendent of the Northeastern School District from 2013 to 2016. The school board dismissed Minnich following the suspension of his education certification. He was ordered to serve six years’ probation following his release.
