PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - Providence City Councilors are calling on Democratic Mayor Jorge Elorza to repair several issues within the city’s public safety complex.
WPRI-TV reports Councilors John Igliozzi and Luis Aponte plan to introduce a resolution Thursday calling for the city to identify all repairs needed in the complex. The complex houses the Providence Police Department, Fire Department and several courts.
Some of the issues listed in the resolution include leaking pipes, broken doors and holes in the walls.
Police union President Sgt. Robert Boehm says many of the issues have lasted for several years. He says he doesn’t know how much the repairs would cost.
A spokeswoman for the Elorza administration says the department of public property will work with police to evaluate repairs listed.
