PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Philadelphia police say a neighbor disarmed a man who forced his way into a woman’s home and robbed and sexually assaulted her.

Police say the suspect forced his way into the woman’s home about 6:45 a.m. Tuesday in the city’s Olney section. The man assaulted the 57-year-old woman before taking two wallets, cash, credit cards, a cellphone and her car keys.

Special Victims Unit Captain Mark Burgmann says the suspect tried to take the woman’s car, but her neighbor stopped the suspect who pulled out a gun. The men scuffled for it, and the suspect dropped it before running away.

Police are hoping the gun, along with fingerprints and DNA evidence will help them identify the suspect. Police believe the same man committed another burglary a block away before the attack.
