MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - About $750,000 is available in grants for Vermont forestry and agriculture projects next year.

The Working Lands Enterprise Board this week announced the opening of the grants cycle.

Officials say about 20 percent of the state’s land is used by agriculture and 75 percent as forestry.

The grant funds will go to support forestry and agriculture projects that enhance Vermont’s communities, economy and culture.

The program is led by the Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets, the Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation, and the Agency of Commerce and Community Development. It’s supported by the Legislature, multiple state organizations and public and private donors.
