SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) - The air quality in the Spokane region saw some dramatic improvements this weekend.

The Environmental Protection Agency says air quality was sitting in the “good” and “moderate” categories across eastern Washington and North Idaho on Sunday.

KREM-TV says wildfires will continue to cause some haze and smoke to stick around until the end of the week and possibly into next week.

Air quality in the Spokane region had been in the “unhealthy” category for some time.
