NASSAWADOX, Va. (AP) - Police say a motorcyclist who died during a police chase had run a red light before crashing into a vehicle.

Virginia State Police said in a press release on Monday that it has reviewed police video and witness statements regarding Sunday’s incident on the Eastern Shore.

Police said Romario L. Guadalupe was driving a blue Yamaha a high rate of speed. A Northampton County sheriff’s deputy was pursuing the bike, which lacked registration.



Police said the 28-year-old motorcyclist drove through a red light on Route 13 before striking the door of a second sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle. Guadalupe, of New Jersey, died on the way to the hospital.
