PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say a 34-year-old man has died after being found lying on a street critically injured after his truck was stolen.

Sgt. Mercedes Fortune says Mario Cordova’s truck hasn’t been located and that police want to hear from anybody with information on the case.

Cordova was found injured Saturday morning after officers responded to a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian.

Fortune says his injuries were described as consistent with being struck with a vehicle and that witnesses told police that the truck was stolen.

The truck is described as a 2001 light gray Dodge Ram 2500 diesel with Arizona license plate BFZ2164.

The incident happened on North 48th and East Roosevelt streets.
