COLCHESTER, Vt. (AP) - A Vermont swift water rescue team deployed to Texas to help with the response after Hurricane Harvey has returned to Vermont.

Fifteen people were deployed from fire departments and rescue crews around the state after the request came in from Texas.

On Tuesday, Republican Gov. Phil Scott said the members of the group known as Vermont Task Force 1 were back in the state after an 11-day deployment.

The mission included checking on residents, searching submerged cars and homes where residents were unaccounted for and delivering food and water.

The team included members of Colchester Technical Rescue, the state fire marshal’s office, and members of the Burlington, Charlotte, Lyndonville and Williston fire departments.
