ALCORN STATE, Miss. (AP) - James Tabary hit Kent Shelby on a 33-yard scoring strike with 26 seconds remaining in the game to give McNeese a 34-27 victory over Alcorn State on Saturday night.

McNeese (2-1), which is 12-0 against SWAC teams, led most of the way but Lenorris Footman hit De’Lance Turner in stride for a 70-yard touchdown to tie at 27-27 at the start of the final quarter.

Tabary was intercepted on the next series and McNeese’s Calum Foster returned the favor, picking off Footman, as the Braves were driving. Neither team could mount another drive until Tabary took the Cowboys 62 yards in four plays to seal the win.
