PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The Rhode Island Air National Guard has launched two missions over 24 hours to assist in Hurricane Irma recovery and relief efforts.
Fifteen airmen left the Quonset Air National Guard Base in North Kingstown on Friday for St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. A second aircrew and aircraft left the base early Saturday to transport a mobile kitchen trailer to St. Thomas.
Officials say the trailer allows food to be cooked and served quickly, and can support virtually any field feeding scenario.
