KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A woman has been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that left one person dead and another injured in Tennessee.

Local news outlets report 23-year-old Emily L. Williams was arrested Sunday afternoon after someone reported a car similar to the one that struck two people on the Gay Street Bridge in Knoxville just before 3 a.m. that day.

A release from the Knoxville Police Department says responding officers had found a man and a woman who were struck while standing next to their motorcycle on the bridge. The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to the hospital in serious condition. Their identities haven’t been released.

Williams is charged with leaving the scene of a known fatal accident. It’s unclear if she has a lawyer.
