ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A dive team from a nonprofit search and recovery organization has located the body of a South Carolina man missing in a lake since July.

The Anderson Independent-Mail reports that the body of 52-year-old Kip Burrell was found in 100 feet (30 meters) of water in Lake Hartwell on Wednesday afternoon.

A news release from the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office says the team from Wisconsin-based Bruce’s Legacy was in its second day of searching when Burrell was found.

Burrell and his wife Stacey Burrell were thrown from their boat during a storm on July 15. His wife was rescued by a passing boater.

The release says Bruce’s Legacy was able to locate the body with high-tech sonar equipment and a remote-operated submersible vehicle that wasn’t available to the sheriff’s office.
