BURNLEY, England (AP) - Burnley and Huddersfield drew 0-0 in the English Premier League on Saturday in an uneventful first top-flight match between them since 1971.

Neither side will mind the result too much as both stay in the top half and comfortably ahead of preseason predictions. Huddersfield and Burnley have nine points from six games.

Burnley striker Chris Wood had a choice of half-chances at Turf Moor but was contained by the Terriers’ Christopher Schindler.

Schindler threw his body at a couple of shots, and nipped in front of Wood to intercept Stephen Ward’s ball and end a goalscoring chance.

When Wood did manage to break free of Schindler to meet Ward’s cross in the 23rd minute, he glanced wide.

Newly promoted Huddersfield has conceded only three goals, the third best defensive performance behind Manchester United and Manchester City.
