SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - One man is dead and another is facing a murder charge after a shooting in Springfield.

Police say a 23-year-old man was shot during a dispute at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The victim was taken to Baystate Medical Center in a private vehicle where he was pronounced dead. His name was not made public.

Authorities charged 42-year-old Francisco Guadalupe, of Springfield, with murder and firearms charges. It could not be determined if he has a lawyer.

Investigators say it appears the men knew each other.

It was the city’s 13th homicide of the year.
